The previous 2D drafting method for studying vision obstruction was not repeatable or precise. For example, if you had 10 draftsmen run 10 separate vision studies, you'd arrive at 10 different answers. In comparison, using the Human Vision Analysis System method, if 10 different engineers ran 10 studies it will produce the exact same answer 10 times.

2D vs 3D

The previous 2D drafting method is done through a series of 2D orthographic projections. Results are estimated and mostly qualitative. The only way to measure results were through point-to-point 2D measurements either on the drafting board or in a 2D CAD system.

The Human Vision Analysis System method is an all-encompassing 3D analysis of a human’s entire field of view (1 step process). The Human Vision Analysis System method is precise to the accuracy of the 3D data tolerances and pixel resolution it uses to complete the study.

The 2D drafting method is manual and only provides estimations. The Human Vision Analysis System method is automated, repeatable and highly precise.

Time and Resource Reduction

In vehicle design for example, the 2D drafting method also requires building physical vision bucks (mock-ups). This effort is labor intensive and time consuming, thus adding months to the design cycle of the production build.

The Human Vision Analysis System method is immediate and eliminates the need for physical vision bucks (mock-ups) and removes months from design cycle of the production build.

Once the 2D drafting method is performed, it is usually not studied again due to time and resource constraints.
